Intertitle is a free iPhone app where you follow friends by username and see what they're watching: the Friends tab is a feed of what they log, what they love, and the Top Four they set — with replies on each watch and a public taste page for anyone who claims a username (they can set it private) — next to a Tonight lineup ranked to your own taste.

What the Friends feed shows
Three kinds of activity from the people you follow:
Watched. A watch they logged in Intertitle, with the rating if they gave one.
Loved. The films they hearted. The heart sits on every log sheet, separate from the stars.
Top Four. When someone updates the four films that define them, it shows up.
Under a logged watch you can leave a reply, and like other people's replies. That's the whole social surface — a feed you can talk on, not a network you have to manage.
Your public taste page
Claim a username and Intertitle publishes a page at app.intertitle.app/u/your-name. It shows your display name, bio and avatar; films logged, loves, followers and following; your top director; your Top Four; a histogram of your ratings; and your recent logs — on the web page, with the notes you wrote in the app. In the app it reads as Recent, Loves and Stats.
It's public from the day you claim it, so a friend can open the link without an account. You can set it private in Settings, and your page — notes included — is no longer shown to anyone. A Wrapped card link you shared earlier stays live. Block and report exist.
What it doesn't do
Intertitle does not compare your taste with a friend's, score compatibility, or find people with the same taste. It has no shared watchlists. If that's the feature you're after, this isn't it — what you get is what your friends actually watched and loved, and a taste page you can send.
How to set it up
- Download Intertitle and create an account. If you have Letterboxd, import your export or connect your handle; if not, rate a handful of films on the quick deck and log as you watch.
- Claim a username — you're offered one right after you create your account, or later from You. Your public page goes live at app.intertitle.app/u/your-name.
- Follow friends by username. What they log in Intertitle, their loves and their Top Four updates fill the Friends tab.
- Reply on a watch when you have something to say.
Then decide what to watch
Seeing what friends watched is half the problem; the other half is tonight. Intertitle's Tonight tab programmes a short lineup ranked to your own taste with a reason for each film, and Reely — the in-app film companion — can pull your friends' activity and a friend's profile into the conversation when you ask it what to watch.
Frequently asked
Do my friends need Letterboxd? No. They need Intertitle. Letterboxd is a way to bring history in, not a requirement.
Can my friends see my page without the app? Yes — the public taste page at app.intertitle.app/u/your-name is a web page.
Can I keep my profile private? Yes. Claim a username and set the page private.
Does it tell me how compatible our tastes are? No. There's no compatibility score or taste match between people.
Is there a web version of the feed? No — the Friends feed is in the iOS app. The public taste pages are on the web.
